Peace Pets was founded to address the big problem with weighted lap pad animals: they’re expensive and inflexible; only available in a few light weights that can’t easily be adjusted.

Their high prices and weight limitations often pose a challenge for parents who need to accomodate their growing children’s changing needs without spending a small fortune.

We’ve aimed to make the process of finding the right weight for your children (or yourself!) easy and affordable.

To achieve this, we developed our own fillable lap pad animals that can be customized to any weight up to 20lbs. This allows for greater adaptability as your children grow from 50lb kids to potentially 150lb+ young adults!

Fillable Lap Pad Animals?

Yes! While they're a little more work than traditional weighted lap pads, they're so much more flexible!

To keep costs low, try dry rice/beans, smooth aquarium rocks, decorative glass stones, marbles, or other home goods.

If you want a traditional filler, try glass micro beads or poly beads.

Or, if you need a heavy weight (>10lbs), try steel shot beads!

Planning a trip? If you don't need it on the plane, lighten your load by emptying your pet, packing it up, and filling it when you land with a cheap temporary filler like rice.

  • Q: Do weighted lap pads help?

    A: They sure can! Weighted products are used to provide deep touch pressure (DTP). DTP can help reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety and help improve focus and performance in school. Read more here.

  • Q: Why lap pads? Why not weighted blankets?

    A: Weighted blankets are large and intended for use while lying down or relaxing at home. Weighted lap pads are excellent for use on-the-go, such as at school, in cars, during travel, in restaurants, etc.

  • Q: Are weighted products safe?

    A: Weighted products should not be used by anyone (big or small) who does not have the muscle strength, coordination, or awareness to move it. They should only be used on those who can use them safely.
